WWD Coffee Break - Skitch, Scheduling & USB Wine

Skitch.com > mikeg1 - Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 2 (Build 2007121014)Skitch Goes Open - Skitch is a screen capture and sketching application for OS X, and Skitch.com is their associated image sharing web site. They’ve been in private beta for a while and garnering good notices. Now they’ve gone to an open beta, which means that anyone can sign up and start using their tools, both online and offline (though you probably won’t get too excited unless you have a Mac to run the offline component).

Skitch features easy snapshots via iSight and screen captures, sketching, and a nice, drag-and-drop interface that can put your images into just about any application on your Mac. You can annotate, re-size, and crop images. One click will post them to your Skitch account, or to other online accounts such as .Mac or Flickr. The workflow is very nice, and if you’re using a Mac it’s definitely worth a look.

Find a Meeting Time - ScheduleOnce bills itself as “a dead simple Web 2.0 service for scheduling any meeting, anytime, anywhere.” Create a meeting, suggest some times, invite people, and they can use its slick interface to show which times are good for them, until everyone narrows in on a final meeting time. Selling points include a zero-registration workflow and a worldwide database that adjusts everything for local time and daylight savings.

Ah, if Only - Even if you don’t understand French, you may get a Friday giggle or two out of this ad for the USB Wine tap: plug it into the side of your computer and “telechargez votre vin!” The accompanying video is delightful. Compatible with both Mac and PC, too.

Just a warning, that ScheduleOnce link will take over your browser — it moves and resizes it just so you can view their home page. ScheduleOnce doesn’t think much of their users.
